My computer has been going slow lately, and yesterday i almost broke into tears when i turned it on and it said 'cannot recognize harddrive'. I shut it off for 10 minutes and turned it back on and it was fine.

Lately my computer has been going slow. For instance sometimes when i exit the internet explorer, it stays at the bottom taskbar as "about:blank microsoft internet explorer" for about a minute.

Some times the internet explorer freezes and i have to exit it. Also, yesterday i suddenly got a 'generic host error' when i turned on my computer, so i did a recovery of all system files with the recovery disk, and that solved the generic host error problem.

I defragmented my harddrive, but that did not help. I tried doing a virus scan and nothing showed up. I aslo searched for updates but there are none i havent alrdy instaleld. What could the problem be? None of this ever happend to my computer before, except the generic host error, that has occured a few times before and i fixed it just by installing an update, or reinstalling the system files with the system recovery disks.

Also, When i put a cd in the drive, it does not auto-run it like it used to. Ive had this problem for a long time now, and i dont know what caused it! How can i fix it ? I tried putting in different cds, and i put the cd in a different computer, and it auto-ran on that.
