    Unable to connect to Server - Pls Help

    Please forgive me as I am hopeless with computers.

    I currently use a computer via ISDN Network (Workspace Offices). Broadband is provided by the managed workspace.

    The computer I use shares a connection with another computer in the same office which are both networked via a router.

    On Saturday (the computer has not been used for a week) I was unable to connect to the server, whether I tried the internet or Outlook Email I kept getting the unable to connect to server display.

    However, the other computer on the same network was able to connect and had no problems. On further investigation the network cable from my computer to the router did not appear to be active (corresponding light on router not on) However, when I plugged the other computer's network cable into the same port on he router this became lit.

    Thinking I had a faulty network cable I purchased a brand new cable and tried again, although this too did not work. I have unplugged all obvious cables and re-connected but still no joy.

    Normally when I start my computer up the two little pc's show in the right-hand corner with no prompting, I don't have to connect to anything. I re-booted the computer time and time again but no joy.

    Please help, I have asked the workspace centre if they have experienced any probs with their end but they have not, PLEASE HELP ME, I HAVEN'T A CLUE

    Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

    If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

    start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

    The network card may have come loose or be faulty.
