    XP Wont install

Ive been trying to install Windows XP Home Edition on my dads computer using his XP Home Edition CD that came with his comp and my newer XP Home Edition SP2 CD. I deleted everything on his 80GB HD, formated NTFS, watched it copy windows files to 100%, then it does the 15 second restart but when it restarts it doesnt start the install process, it goes back to the blue setup screen if either CD is in the CD-ROM Drive and if no CD is in, it just gives me a black screen asking for a boot disk. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What is the make & model of the computer?

If the original CD was an OEM Recovery version then you have to follow the manufacturers instructions.

You cannot use the latter SP2 CD unless it is unique to that computer.

For example how did you handle the Product Key?

I got it working, read a post by newbie_geek who seemed to be having the same problem, I changed something in the BIOS to PCI and it started the install process for windows when I restarted. So thx for the help
