I recently upgraded to SP2 and noticed a weird problem.

When I click File > Open in any image program (Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop), the program just hangs for a good 15 seconds until the file opens.

Also when I want to upload an image via the internet by clicking the "Browse" button on forms, the browser hangs after I select my file and click OK for 15 seconds. But when I click on a doc file or xls file to upload via the same form, the file is loaded up immediately. This only happens with JPG files.

Nevermind I figured it out!

I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements and noticed it runs a background process at startup. Once I disabled that process, there was no more hanging.
