Problems Booting Up (help needed PLEASE!!)

When I boot up my computer it usually making a long beeep sound and the monitor goes on to standby. After several resets (this can range anywhere between 2 and 20), the computer gives a single beep and boots up as normal. Can some body please tell me if this is a common problem as my did it when i first bought it then it stopped doing it for a while, but recently it has started to do it again and it is really frustrating.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks for your time.

It is a hardware issue or (less likely) a BIOS issue.

Perhaps a connection problem. Quite often a symptom of a faulty Power Supply Unit.

Is the computer under warranty? Are you familiar with opening it up?

What is the make and model?

I think that the computer may have just past its warrenty period

I an unfamiliar with openin the computer up. Actually, i know little about the mechanics of the computer, its just that this problem has been driving me crazy.

The computer is made by Q-tech. The model number is (i think, i got this from system information) 'P4M266A-8235'

You say faulty power supply, Is this the power supply to the tower or the monitor?

Is there anything i can do to try and fix this problem or will i need to get it speacially repaired or whatever?
