    Help! Mouse click problem.

    Logitech wireless mouse & keyboard.
    Mouse recently started misbehaving:
    sometimes takes 5 or more clicks before it will respond;
    sometimes responds by highlighting text/fields when not wanted.
    Batteries etc. are o.k.
    How could the settings have changed; could it be a virus?
    I am not very tech minded - and this is driving me mad.
    Any ideas?

    Since this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

    start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

    You can also check the settings via start > control panel > mouse

    Do you have another mouse to test? Just to see if it is the mouse or XP.

    Thank you for your reply.
    System restore did not make any difference.
    I tried checking the mouse settings but didn't know what to change them to!
    A different mouse via USB connection works ok.
    I then tried reinstalling logitech software - and promptly lost the use of the keyboard as well!
    But after a couple of hours have managed to get things working again.
    Thanks again for your suggestions.
