Just to verify: you said: "i had no problem using the same software for same purpose before, and i don't know what has changed."
Is this correct?
I ask because that scan shows you have an on-board 32MB SiS Graphics Chip. With all due respect this is a fairly weak chip especially for any video and or gaming applications.
I would suggest upgrading to an AGP card but that being said we can still try to troubleshoot this.
I will look up that motherboard and search for any driver updates which might help.
Will post back ASAP.

it is correct that i haven't had problems before, and i am disappointed to learn that i have a weak chip installed.
obviously i don't know much about computer hardware but i did specify what i use the computer for when purchasing the pc.
is there anything i can do without upgrading?

Your Graphics chip is SiS 661FX. It is set at 32MB shared RAM
This is why your RAM reports:
Total Memory Detected in Hardware: ~512 MB
Memory Reported to Operating System: 480MB
That chip is using the 32 MB difference. Most contemporary cards use either 128 or 256MB of their own RAM. Having only 32 MB available is limiting but as you say it worked before there must be something else involved. I would just point out that your board does have an AGP 8X slot available for upgrade should you ever wish to purchase a good card. It would be a radical upgrade for @ $100/150 US.
Anyway there might also be a setting in your BIOS Setup that allocates the RAM sharing. You might be able to increase the RAM share up to 64MB which might help.
I also find both a graphics driver update and a BIOS update from ASUS. You might try the Graphics first (it is rather large @ 16.58 (MBytes). It is only recommended to upgrade the BIOS if absolutely necessary.
