    Angry Limewire Pro

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help with this one. I use limewire and recently thought I would be clever and searched and dowloaded Limewire PRO from limewire. (instead of paying the $20 or so)
Since then my pc will not shut down and constantly restarts.
When it restarts it displays a Microsoft message saying "A serious error has occured" and to report to microsoft, which I did.
Microsoft say something is corrupted and to set my pc to system restore point before the last bad installation.
I have tried this a few times to different points but half way through the process of 'system restore' my pc restarts and tells me it cannot restore because of an improper shutdown.
It seems like I am in a Catch 22 situation. I have deleted the Limewire PRO and the shortcut and ran my Norton Internet Security 2006 but it picks nothing up and tells me all programs are running normally.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
    ALAN

What Recovery Disks do you have?

If OEM (pre-installed XP) search the manual for how to run a NON-destructive Recovery.

If you have a full version Microsoft XP CD try a Repair Installation:

Thanks for the trouble of answering my query.
