Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows XP: This problem just started a few days ago...I tried to type in a USERNAME and PASSWORD, and it won't type anything in. I can select the "field", but when I type...nothing happens.

This happens on some other text boxes, but not all. I can type using Word programs, and do other mouse and typing actions - so the keyboard works fine.

Any suggestions as to why I can't type in these fields?

Are you the Administrator?

Are you connected to a network? If so:

Disable Simple File sharing.

If not and everything was OK a few days ago try a System Restore:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
