Computer Restarts spontaneously
Hello, i am having the same problem as this guy here.
http://www.d-a-l.com/help/archive/in...p/t-16535.html
But i cant seem to find where to reply at so i am just starting another topic.
Some stuff i did to my comp in the past month:
Installed another HD
Installed new Network card.
Yes, i did take out my HD and i did replace my Network card (The old one which i had no problems with berfore).
But I am still having problems.
I reinstalled Windows so i know its not a virus. And i am getting the same excact symptoms as RedHawk50 in the top i am refering to. Except i never get Blue screen.
I have tryed almost everything that jephree told RedHawk50 and it is still not working.
Ohh yeah. When i restart my computer, in bios it says
"The current drivers where automaticly updated:
Drive C:[1] Drive E:[2]
Idunno what to do? Please help.

Just to verify: you removed the new hardware but the problem persists?
Did you have any problems prior to changing the hardware in the first place?
I reviewed the thread but we need to start from scratch really. So sorry if I reiterate
Change this setting:
rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart
Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id & Description especially of errors that seem to coincide with this issue.
Also check the Information lines that might coincide with this issue.
How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
Describe exactly what is going on. Does the computer work OK and then sometimes reboots? What are you doing when it happens? At this point the more you can offer the better we can get ideas.
What is the make and model of the computer? Are you running XP SP2? At one point you say "when I restart" `does this mean that the computer is not rebooting? Is it just shutting down? etc.

SECURiTY
----------------------------------------------------------
About 6 of these say the same thing
Event ID:615 Security
IPSec Services: IPSec Services failed to get the complete list of network interfaces on the machine. This can be a potential security hazard to the machine since some of the network interfaces may not get the protection as desired by the applied IPSec filters. Please run IPSec monitor snap-in to further diagnose the problem.
SYSTEM
------------------------------------------------------------
Event ID:7 Cdrom
The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.
Event ID:1003 System Error
Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.
Event ID:4 and 5 (But have same description) ACPI
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal IO port address (0x70), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.
Event ID:7005 Service Control Manager
The RpcImpersonateClient call failed with the following error:
No security context is available to allow impersonation.
Event ID:4311 NetBT
Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created.
Alot of them there are like 4-5 , but they say the same thing.
Yes the comp is rebooting its self.
It happens when i first install with no updates; and when i have the latest updates.
But like i sayed, it says it automaticly configured my drives.
I dont have SP2 right now, i am just keeping my comp clean until i can figure out the problem...
So basicly thats what it does... Restarts out of no where.
I will get the error report next time it heppens... but since i posted the topic, it hasnt happend.

Many of those errors are connection errors where Microsoft recommends installing SP2.
The CD error is most likely a bad (scratched) CD.
Also does the restarting happen when you are gaming online?
-
Mostly when i have Starcraft (Game) on.
-
Were you ever able to play this game OK on this computer?
Again I'd suggest trying SP2 for starters.
-
I used to play it 24/7 and it worked.
It does it with and without SP2.
I just dont wanna spend time downloading SP2 and find out i might need a new motherbored...
Ohh yeah, i talked to a guy in a computer store and he said it could be motherboared problems... but i doubt it.

If you want to try and analyze the XP errors:
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.
Then:
1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.
