    Old cd drive recognized differenty

Ok, weird problems. I have a cd drive/burner that was formerly drive F. Everything was fine. Suddenly, it's running as drive G, and I can't burn off itunes anymore because it still recognizes the burner as being drive F. Also, I can't upload computer games because the command box freezes. I have no idea if these problems are even related, but they seem to be, since the disk is in the messed up cd drive. I think the problem may have started when I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in. But I don't know how to get rid of the "phantom" drive

I'm in a bit of a rut since I know next to nothing about computers.

Drive letters are assigned somewhat arbitrarily when any new drive is detected.

Try Uninstalling the Drive via the Device Manager then rebooting.

    Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc
