First time on site so please be gentle........my home PC has run an Automatic Windows Update on 14th June and I now have logo saying my Windows is not genuine. I then get the pop up box saying click on Get Genuine or Resolve Later. No matter which one I click on I get another Windows Product Activation pop up that says that there is a problem preventing Windows from accurately checking the licence for the computer. Error Code 0x800090019.....

The software is genuine as it was installed on the PC when I bought it from PC world in 2003. I have a System Recovery CD but am not sure what to do next to ensure I don't lose all my data.

I can access by going into Safe Mode, but then cant get any programs to run to be able to copy data to my burner etc.

I also can't access the System Restore from Safe Mode. It just gives me a white screen.


Please somebody help me...........I;m struggling here!!

do you get a phone number to call?
does your PC have a COA sticker with the 25 digit code?

It dosen't give a phone number.

There is a sticker on the side of the PC with the Product Key on it - 25 digits

By googling I think a few people are having the same problem.
