    Smile Windows XP Windows (Default)

When I boot Windows XP the boot manager appears giving me a choice as to which OS I want to use. Either Windows XP Home Edition or it has Highlited Windows (Default). When I try to launch Windows (Default) I get an erroe saying that it cannot launch because an it is missing a file. I am trying to get rid of the Windows (Default) selection, but everything I have tried has done no good. I tried the repair with the XP cd. FIXMBR and FIXBOOT. Neither of them worked. I even looked at the BOOT.INI file. No refference to Windows (Default). any help you can give as to get rid of that entry in the boot manager, besides reinstalling windows would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip, but, I already tried that and it seemd to work. Just one thing. The boot.ini file does not show Windows (Default) as part of the boot options. So there was nothing to edit out. I made Windows XP Home edition the primary boot OS and took out the 30 second timer. Works fine now.

    Thank you jephree.
