    Can't control crazy cursor!!

    Hello.
    Windows Pro SP2, 80GB, Pent4, 512MB RAM

I have had this little problem with my mouse for a year or so!! Until now it has been rare but lately it is getiing more and more frequent.

Every so often the computer will start beeping like mad and if a window (doesn't matter if it is word, excel, powerpoint or Internet) the page will jump up and down!! Sometimes I know when I turn the comp on if it is going to do this as it starts beeping as soon as it's turned on.
My mouse is optical and is plugged into the mouse port not USB.

    Any suggestions?

Try cleaning your keyboard. Had a stuck key on laptop. Started beeping and would not work with mouse. Used air to blow out board and works fine now.

had the same problem at an office worked at. it ended up being a shaky connection into the motherboard. try getting a usb mouse, or get a ps2 to usb converter. or if you have an extra ps2 mouse try that cuz it can be shorts int he mouse wire also. they aren't very shielded and it isn't unheard of for them to interfere with each other
