    I have windows XP Can someone tell me what is a cabinet file-8cc153d5-578c-40cf-9998-5057ca8651? Xan I delete this thing. thanks

    Thanks for the page. I will read over it. I see it on my computer, and I want to delete it because I don't think iut should be there. There is nothing else similar to it. thanks for the reply barb

    Can you please be more specific to where it is?



    Example: C:/Program Files/XXX/YYY/ZZZ etc.


    Any software install will carry .cab files. Many are deleted after install.

    If you open my comp it is there. so far I can't find it anywhre else. I wish I could e-mail it to you, but I cant copy and paste it barb

    Pardon my confusion but what do you mean by open my comp?

    Do you mean that it appears on the desktop? Or is it listed under: My Computer?

    Right click it and then choose Properties. What does that say?

    It is under My Computer where it says programs etc. I will try right clicking it. I will be right back

    Me again I right clicked it and it says Cabinet File
    Opens with Windows Explorer
    Location is C drive
    Created May 17th

    Can you open it? If so you might find a more detailed address.

    Do you know what software you installed on May 17th?

    hi, thanks for the reply. yes, i can iopen it, but i will leave it alone for awhile. It does not seem to be hurting anything??? thank for the help barb
