    Windows XP install help

Ok so i had a dell dimension 4300. My Friend sent me a AMD athlon 64 3000 processor. He also told me all what i need to get to basically have a new computer. So I go out and buy a new case. An Asus A8V motherboard, Abit 9550 video card and 1gb of kingston ram. well I plug in my hard drive and it wont boot up. So i decided to re-install the windows Xp disk I purchased when I first upgraded from Windows ME. the install goes for a little while then shuts off telling me its missing some page or something.. Anyone have suggestions on what could be going wrong. Is there maybe a compatibility issue with the new stuff i bought?? any help is welcome... thanks

XP needs to be reinstalled on a new motherboard.

A verbatim error message would help us help.

If you have an Upgrade version of XP you will need to supply proof of a previous version. Is this your issue?

What and when is the exact error?
