Can anyone help!!! I recently installed some software from Incredimail and also some Windows Beta Programs and think they may of caused some problems with my PC.
At first I was unable to get the little cross on the top right corner to close down any pages open, so I did a system restore and that sorted out the problem, however I now find that I can not access all links that I go to.
for example when I click on the Webshots Icon on my on the start menu bar and select preview new photos.... I get the little box with the link to open up that page but I get a message stating.... Unable to open hyperlink. The operating system denied access to the specified file, I do not get that message with all links I attempt to open most of them just wont open at all and I do not get any kind of error message.
This only seems to happen to some links there are some that will still open which is what I find strange.
Hope there is some help out there!

What Windows Beta programs have you installed?

IE 7?

Did your System Restore uninstall all Beta programs?

If not that would be the first step.

Beta software is for testing only.

Also go back before IncrediMail with your Restore.

Hello thanks for your reply to my problem, The programs I had installed were Magentic from Incredimail and from Windows I had installed there updated ad-aware remover which is called Windows defender and I had also installed the beta versions of Windows Live which I think is an update to MSN Messanger.
I had already tried to restore back to before I installed any of these programs but my system restore will not go back any more than 5 days at anytime, I am a little concerned about that however as I use to be able to restore my computer as far back as a month or more but no longer can.
I have tried to un-install webshots and re-install it and have tried to repair Incredimail but that has not resolved any of the problems.

Please post a hijackthis log for the experts to look at.
