Hi
I am having problems with my copy/paste function. Sometimes it works and then it just stops working. If I get the Clipboard toolbar up on the screes the icons are faint and I cannot click on them. Any ideas what I can do ?

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore


Also as many copy/paste issues are the result of malware:

As a first response you might want to post a HijackThis log for review by our Pros in that section:

Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
(Not in this section please).

Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

Hi Jephree - not sure if I am typing in the right place for a response but I'll try it. Thank you very much for you helpful response. I tried System Restore but there wasn't a problem or a point it could restore to. Then I discovered that the problem with copy and paste seems to occur if I have and extra Internet Explorer running and when I close it it seems ok. I'll carry on doing this and see if that works. Should I also post a HijackThis log as well - or just wait to see if it happens again ? Many thanks, Maj

With the System Restore issue as well I would post a log for our Pros to read in their section.

Many malwares also target System Restore.
