You did a clean install of XP? SP1? SP2?
Did you reload all your drivers?
Does XP itself work OK?
What programs exactly? Did you install one at a time? Did you check each one at a time?
Did you install these programs online or from disks? The more details the better at this point.
its a long story:
my c drive has around 15-20 viruses and i reinstalled windows on my d drive but it didn't do the trick, programs do not work properly and network issues so i want to format my c drive but am worried about losing all my bios stuff(i'm no computer geek)but i just gather thats vital 4 the pc to even boot,so is this safe?
okay then no help.....
if you reformat your drive you will only clear data on the drive, the BIOS is on a chip on the motherboard and clearing the hard drive shouldn't alter that
have you still got windows and all the programmes on C?
Please stick to one thread per issue. Thanks.Originally Posted by jephree
