    Updating Motherboard driver.

    Hi.

How often should you update your motherboard driver,
I have not changed mine for two years.

How difficult is it to do

Unless you are having problems and or upgrading major hardware there is no need to do anything.

Without a need to do so these are best left alone.

There are drivers and then there is the BIOS.

Some boards update the BIOS in order to handle new types of hardware.

Mostly older boards adjusting to new CPU's is the main example.

The actual drivers for your chipset and audio in general would only need replacing if you were having problems or reinstalling XP for example.

All of these updates would be found at the motherboards manufacturers web site but again this is a basic case of "if it ain't broke: don't fix it"
