Epson C44 Printer Problem
Just bought new printer vie ebay. Tried to install disk fine but won't print. Right click on printer icon on toolbar open Ink Monitor, nothing showing in either colour or Black cartridges. They are both inserted with ink in them, can't do nozzle check or head clean or print test page. any ideas anyone?

i had an epson C44..... im sorry to say this but i absolutley hated it!
try a different USB lead, also, try it in a different usb socket on your pc.... i would also re-install the software, took me 3 goes before i got it to work
is your computer detecting it?
what, if any error messages do you get?
Hope this helps

Thanks for your advice. Tried different USB lead & socket which helped. Everything installed fine but won't print test page & nothing showing on ink monitor or head cleaning. everything just shows in the queue but non of the specified tasks will perform.
any ideas?
Mikey
p.s I had a C20 before & that was fine.

Hi Mikey,
have you tried the 'install new ink cartrage' process?
what does it say in 'printers and faxes' in the control panel? is your epson set as the default printer (Epson C44 copy 1 should be default if i remember correctly)
Hope this helps

Hi Mike
Thanks for this. Fiddled around a bit mainly with the USB connection & hey presto it's working even printed test page! Only probem now is only one of my USB ports appears to be working so I can't print as the same time as using broadband. The connection slot on the back of the computer doesn't accept usb lead properly not snug fit so must be damaged so I'll go to my local computer shop & see if he can fix. Unless you have any better ideas?

sorry to but in
you can buy a USB card that'll fit into an empty PCI slot
has you PC and modem got ethernet sockets, connecting thru' them is better
If you connect using USB you will require a MINIMUM of 80% system resources to be able to achieve OPTIMUM browsing and download speeds.

if your usb ports are already on a pci card, you can either replace it or buy a new one, if not.... you will need to buy one to fit a spare pci slot, i have seen them for about £25-30
4 port (+ 1 internal) £29.99: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...20usb&doy=29m5
3 front ports and 2 back ports £17.99 (requires spare 3.5" bay for front usb ports): http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...20usb&doy=29m5
Or a 4 port hub for £9.99: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...20usb&doy=29m5
this plugs into your working usb and allows you to connect up to 4 devices (i would recomend one of the pci cards though)
here is a cheaper 4 port pci card for onl;y £6.99 from dabs: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx...avigationKey=0
Hope this helps
