Hi there
I have 2 questions that I wuld like some help on.

1. How to I get my documents folder back on to desktop without having it be a shortcut link? some how its gone so i have put a shortcut link there but it is anoying me.
2. As I am administrator on Win XP can i stop certain profiles from using certian programs ie is there a way to stop people using programmes i dont want them to have access to?

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Open Control Panel and go to Display then Desktop then Customise and click on My Documents to be on your desktop.

2. In Pro it is easy, in Home it's not so easy; which do you have?

Hey thanks question 1 is now solved and questions 2 I have Xp Home edition.
Is there a way for me stop use of certian programmes in this edition.

In Pro there is a security tab in the properties of every file, folder, program, making it easy to allow or block access.

In Home this tab only appears in safe mode. You can boot safe (click F8 after BIOS POST before windows) choose to start in safe mode.

In XP Home -- boot to safe mode and the security tab shows up, simple file
sharing is off by default in safe mode.
Also for xp home, check this out (#3). You can tweak xp home to get it to act like xp pro.

Method 3 looks like the best and is what claims to make home like pro. Having never used Home I have no way to test it.
