One early in the morning, my mother was using the computer and all was fine. 10 am the very same day when I wanted to use it, the moniter screen was blank but I could still hear the fan. I tried moving the mouse, typing random keys on the keyboard, ctrl+alt+del, but the screen was still black. I tried switching the CPU off and on, and even tried it with another monitor.

So, I'm guessing either power supply or motherboard. I've checked all the power supply and any loose connections; there were no problems there. How do can I fix this, and if I were to take it to the shop, how much should I expect to pay? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Do you get any beeps when you power on?

Is there any signal on the monitor such as "No Signal"

Does the monitor light (LED) ever go green?

Remove everything but the CPU; Graphics Card; and one stick of RAM and see what happens.

I have the same problems. Have you been able to get this resolved? If so, what did you have to do? I have already tried suggestions made to you.
