    Exclamation windows update

Even though i have switched on the automatic update wizard there are no update happening.
If i try to do it manually from the microsoft website but it says that the activex cannot install even though i have changed the activex setiings in such a way that it should not be an issue with any of the websites.

I downloaded the beta versions of both windows media player i.e.11 & the beta version of IE i.e. 7 for sp2 when i try to install these two beta versions the installations are stop by windows itself it does'nt give a specific reason for media player but it does say that i need to check if the cryptographic services are switched on I even switched them on but still its not working

First off remove all Beta software.

Then go back to Windows Update and see if the problem persists.

Your log is being attended to in the HijackThis section.

We do not read HijackThis logs here.

If they cleared you up please state your current problem. Is it the same? Nothing changed?

What is the verbatim error message when you try to use Windows Update?

I don't mean to be tedious but you did not respond to Neal's last post:

    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread...3&page=2&pp=10

Also you could try to run this tool:
