I hope one of you gentlemen can help me, I just bought a 250 GB external hard drive manufactured by Cypress and am having trouble getting it to work.

I am running windows XP so I should not need any driver but after I have let the computer do it's install and it says new hardware ready for use I still can not find where the drive is to use it. If there is some sort of manual that I can download that would be great.

Is it listed under Disk Management?

Start/Run/ diskmgmt.msc


If so you need to Format it in order to use it/ see it under My Computer


This is also assuming at least SP1 to use a drive of that size.

It does show up.

So how would I format it?

Never mind I figured it out.
