Choosing Safe Mode do you get the choice of System Restore?

If yes choose a date prior to your problem.

If not try: safe mode w/cmd prompt

    and type: %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Outside of this you are left with your Toshiba CD to reinstall.

I looked at your model and see no other options:

yea....its ONLY letting me select win xp not system restore.

This is the second time in 1 week I'm giong to have to reinstall the op. system, which means I have to yank the HD and attach it to the desktop and pull the data BACK off of it because Microsoft cant keep their crap together and their Service pack fried my computer!!!

Once I'm up and running again I would LIKE to be running off of SP2....should I abandon all hope of that or try it again?

thanks for the dedicated help jephree.

bleh. Ive abandoned all hope. I tried to reinstall my op system via the toshiba recovery CD and when I boot from the CD is says F1 to continue so I do that, it says starting...then restartes the computer and does it all over again. A hammer should solve all my problems yes?

    You say you've reinstalled before?

Do you follow the same path? F1?

Usually F1 is a bypass function. Are you sure that you are supposed to press F1? Are there other options? I just wonder if F1 would not bypass the CD and continue to a normal boot attempt.

dude, its running OFF the recovery cd...F1 to continue F2 to cancel. I push continue and it goes on to restart my computer coming back to the same CD menu.

And this worked earlier this week?

I cannot find any help on this issue at Toshiba:

    There is contact info here:

Don't know what else to add. Sorry

If it has a floppy drive you could try the 6 floppy XP Setup and see if that will accept your CD:
