Corrupt file

Re: Corrupt file
Ok, I posted a HijackThis thread, and they said to delete one of my anti-spyware programs on my computer and repost, telling them about my problems.
I would do that, but my computer just crashed again and is now doing the loop where it won't start that i first explained in this post. I am going to get the XP Setup disks again and boot from the floppy disk drive. I found how to do this from http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread...er+fails+start
When i run the windows setup from the floppy disks, and run chkdsk to get my computer running again, there are two different suggestions within chkdsk to use from one of the links on the above site. You find these suggestions from chkdsk if you scroll down to the damaged file system on that link (http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q297185). Should i use chkdsk /r or the fixboot command?
Once it is running, I will delete the anti-spyware program and repost another HijackThis telling them the following:
Here is what my computer has been doing. I often get the message from windows that one or more of my files are corrupt and I should run chkdsk. The file it usually lists is C:\$Secure. I run chkdsk through the command prompt, but it usually won't let me run chkdsk /f because it says that the process is already in use (or something along those lines). I have searched for the file C:\$Secure, but cannot find it (even searching the system and hidden files and folders). Every time I re-boot my computer, it has to run chkdsk. Also, the other day, I got a message from Symantec Anti-virus that I had a version of the Trojan virus on my computer. It said that the file could not be cleaned or quarantined, but it deleted the file successfully.

Did you run through the Dell troubleshooter here:
http://support.dell.com/support/topi...30030ABD62041A
A Trojan can have put check disk into an infinite loop but check disk is not going to remove the Trojan. But that being said go ahead and run chkdsk /r as a starter.
If that fails I would go to the Dell solutions for Recovering XP.

Hi there
Ive had the same problem as you today, Did your system say what exe file it was trying to run when it discovered the corrupt "$Secure " fille or folder, mine was Azurues.
All i did to resolve it was run CCleaner also known as crap cleaner, its free off the net and cleans alsorts of stuff off your system, i just ran the windows app cleaner and it sorted it out. Please let me know if this was any help.
