Angry Screen resolution stuck & no sound.

Last week my computer crashed, so my dad ended up re-loading XP, and everything was completely wiped out. I started fresh. The only problem is the resolution is suck at 640 x 480, and no sound works. I've checked everything that has to do with the sound; everything is hooked up properly, but it doesn't recognize it. I installed Everest, what should I post?

    Hi,

You probably don't have the drivers installed for the video or sound cards on your computer's mother board. There was probably a driver disk that came with the computer, hopfully you still have this disk. Installing the drivers from that disk will allow windows to use the sound and video settings which your hardware is capabable of. If you can't find that disk, then you will need to find the exact type of video and sound card you have, go to the manufacture website and download the drivers from there.

I have no clue where the driver disk is.. at all.. so could you possibily show me where I could go to download the drivers? I have no clue where to even look for the specific information I'd need from Everest...

What is the make and model of the computer?

If custom built post back this scan so we can ID the motherboard:

Do you know the model of this TriGem computer?

At the moment the web site is not working

    http://www.trigem.com/

Also you want to go to Windows Update and get SP2 ASAP.

Thanks so much, would I only need to download the video and audio drivers then?

    Yes.

One at a time. I would reboot in between and make sure every thing is OK between.

Also turn off any anti virus during install. After download go off line to install.
