What is the make and model of computer?

Ghost error is a Symantec error. Your manufacturer probably uses ghost as a Recovery Option.

Their web site might have more info.

Ghost is used as the Recovery software for that computer:

    See if this helps:
When you get the ghosterr.txt error

Also ghosterr.txt errors can occur with the following.

    1. Faulty recovery disks( check for deep scratches)
you can verify the recovery image( can tell you how to check it if you like)

    2. If you any non-essential USB devices installed i.e modem, scanner printer, only have the essential 4 leads connected to your PC

    3. You have added new Hardware
( if so remove it or put the original back in then run recovery)

    4. If you have two drives recovery will only work the secondary master which in most cases on an emachine is the top drive..

Try the above steps if you still get the ghosterr.txt error message
    >tap ESC
Should take you to command prompt and give a detailed error report with a code..
    What does it say???
