Since upgrading from 98 to XP recently, the CD rewriter built into my HP Pavillion 8690 (quaint!) PC is only being recognised as a CD rom and I can no longer use it to burn CD's. The device manager shows 'the device is working properly' and there appears to be no updated driver to install. This PC is a few years old now, is it just because the hardware is incompatable with XP or out of date that I can't get it to work?
Any suggested fixes please?

can you copy cd r's?

sometimes cd re-writers only copy CD's this is because of UDF drivers missing/corrupt.

you can download a free UDF driver from my website in the drivers section (at the bottom of the list)
