    start>help and support not working

Somewhere along the line my start help and support isn't working. I have DL'd helpsvc.exe and that won't help and I have checked restore so I am not sure how to get it working again. Could anybody please help? Thank You

    Hello,

Time and time again this issue arises, there appears to be bug that allows the help & support to become corrucpted.

There is no one answer to this problem, insread of writing it all out might I suggest you go to www.kellys-korner-xp.com, go to their A to Z section then look under H and scroll down and see if any of the advise there resolves this issue as well as any advise from this forum.

A year or so ago I had just this problem and did everything to resolve it including Kellys--advise,nothing worked. Microsoft UK couldn't help and then passed me over to Microsoft USA. Between them they were exellent but were completly at a loss. Over a period of four days and five or six very long phone calls they stuck in there with me, they were on a learning curve too.

Finaly it was a simple entry into start/run that resolved the issue.

I made complete notes unfortunatly since then I suffered a massive PC fry-up so can't tell you what it was I typed in-----bloody frustrating.

If here or Kellys can't help or you can't resolve the matter let me know and I'll resurect it with MS and ask them to look back on the details.
Best of luck, keep us posted.

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 HHCTRL.OCX and then click Ok. Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

Don't you just love it when you offer somone a possible solution to their problem and they never respond to tell you if it helped or not?

Gosh no Jephree, thankyou I and no doubt this forum rely on your good advise.

I know a lot more on building PCs then software and belong to a powerfull consumer group so am trying to educate people in the UK with their consumer rights.

I read law in my spare time and I've just started to get into the American consumer groups, our laws in that respect are quite similar to yours

Florida---nice--I'm in West London, 3.50am there abouts and there's a gale blowing outside.

Well I beat so I'm going to hit the sack----good night.
