    Re: display resolution problem

Wow! That is sweet! Hopefully the SLI cards will sort out your issues.

    Nice machine

Is there liquid cooling on the processor or a standard fan?

I got six fans inside. I was thinking about going with liquid cooling, but the cost factor came into play there. It would be nice though.

I'll tell you though man, this whole low resolution thing has windows looking all screwd up big time. Argh!!!!! sooooo annoying. But the 4GB of ram makes a nice diference from 2GB

I can't even imagine that resolution I am so used to 1280 x 1024 it is hard to see other computers that use less.

I just installed my first liquid system and it dropped the CPU temp from an idle 50C to 30C which enables over-clocking ... not that you would need it

    Is this your board:

Now this other tech said he'd never heard of that before and that it should show all 4 unless the wrong kind of memory was installed. So that got me to wondering if putting the wrong memory into the computer could have led to some of these problems.

    What do you figure?
You cannot install more than 4GB on a 32 bit processor no matter what OS you
use; that is the technical limit.
No process can address more than 3GB by the design of the OS.
The limit is the same for both XP Home and XP Professional: 4GB.

64 bit systems can go to 8GB.

Certainly RAM that is not totally supported by the motherboard can lead to all kinds of problems.

So can tech's that don't know what they are talking about

Did your computer show the full 4GB when you had it?

no it only would show 3GB bein used and 1GB that wasn't or something like that
hahaha too true bout the tech

Well if you have 4GB I doubt that it would hardly ever be used.

The point would be if your BIOS showed 4GB and also XP under System Information.

If you right click My Computer and choose Properties you will see what XP detects as to your RAM.
