    Re: Freezing

I would never downgrade from Pro to Home.

If you are at that point I would reinstall Pro.

I haven't had much time to look at your other errors but I will as soon as I can.

I cannot find that same error WASEN0BUFS but did find this:

    http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-...hp?p_faqid=245

Also what Firewall are you using?

Also check these Services: start/run services.msc

stisvc.exe is an executable which is installed by Windows together with digital cameras, scanners or another graphical input devices.

    Also: COM+ Event System Service

    Are they set to Manual?

Thanks alot. Firewalls... Zone Alarm always off when i play. Windows firewall ALWAYS off, router firewall always on

COM+ Event System Service is DISABLED. I did not find stisvc.exe on the services list. I downloaded a fix for the MAX TCP/IP, which changes it from 10 to 50 but it did not solve the issue. I will check out that thread. Yet again thank you for your help!

Just more ideas: Set: COM+ Event System Service: to manual.

Also: May be the rdbss.sys file got corrupted. rdbss.sys is located in the folder C:WindowsSystem32drivers. You may need to extract a fresh file from the XP CD.

Ok com is set to manaul, and i will look into the rdbss.sys replacement, oh and i was doing more test's the other day when the "freezing" happened and i tried to ping my router with cmd.exe ping [routerip] and i got this error..0xc0000142 people say its from a virus but i know thats not true because it only happens when i have timed out or "froze" when i havent frozen it works fine. This is from the site you gave me...

"This one came from my xp Pro cd

    http://rapidshare.de/files/5801030/RDBSS.SY_

This one came from my windows system32 folder

    http://rapidshare.de/files/5801150/rdbss.sys

I don't know if you can just switch them or what. That **** is over my head.
There is always your system restore located in All Programs/accessories"

could i just download the one he uploaded from his winxp pro cd? and try replacing it with mine?
