    Question compatible memory

    I would like to add some memory to my daughters computer she has samsung 256 ddr pc3200 in the computer now I would like to add a stick of kingston kvr333/256r 2700 to it only because I have it laying around, i would like to know if this will work in harmony?

    that should work, however, the existing memory will be slowed down to the speed of the 2700 (as opposed to 3200)
    it shouldnt make much difference, depending on what you use your computer for.

    if you just run Win xp and say internet explorer and msn, 256mb @ a speed of 3200 should be enough

    if you run Win xp, internet explorer, msn, WMP and something else (e.g a game like roller coaster tycoon or young childrens games) then the extra memmory should give you an increase in performance....

    it also depends on your CPU speed and HDD size
    256mb will not be enough to handle a 300GB HD but it will be enough for a 40GB drive.
