    E-mail help

I didn't know where to post this message but I have Windows XP Home Edition, Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6.

For many years I have had one e-mail address ending in .freeserve.co.uk and I have never changed it or got a new one despite sharing it with my family. Now that we have two laptops my Mum wanted to be able to check messages on them both but I explained that although this is possible, if an e-mail for me was downloaded to her computer I wouldn't be able to download it onto mine as it would have already been received, and this would end up being inconvenient for both of us.

About a month or so ago, using the account manager on Outlook Express I created a new e-mail address for my Mum in exactly the same format as mine (including the .freeserve.co.uk part even though the company is now called Wandoo and will soon be Orange) except for the name before the @ symbol.

For a while everything worked fine but now I have started receiving all mine and my Mum's e-mails on my account, and the same thing is happening to her. We have Wanadoo Broadband and a Netgear Wireless router but I have never even used her e-mail account on my computer and I never set up mine on hers.

Is this a common probelm and is it due to sharing the Internet connection or even because the addresses are so similar?

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Cathy

Hi, you need to go into Outlook Express\Tools\Accounts and highlight your Mums account on your machine you dont want to check, click properties and untick the checkbox 'include this account when receiving or synchronising mail'.
Then do the same on the other machine with your account and it should only check each individual account on each computer then.
