Hi, first time on this site so please forgive me if this question has been posted before.

I have just reformated my pc using the set up discs which came form the manufacturer.

I recall that long ago after reformating my old pc disabling some items from the start up list to make the machine fire up quicker, but can't recall which ones weren't actually needed, could someone advise which are the ones I can safely unistal.

I 'm the only person to use this pc which is not networked & isn't used for gaming.

Dell 3.2 processor 80gig primary hdd & 200gig slave hdd 1 meg of ram.

As well as using the excellent link from Tassie Devil to tweak your services you will also find turning off unnecessary startup Programs will help.

This little program will show you everything that starts on your computer and also lets you enable or disable each entry.

You will find your Program startups listed under the Logon tab.
