Cannot Drag and Drop Video Files to External Hard drive

I am using a Toshiba Satellite M60-164 Laptop with Windows XP Home Edition and cannot drag and drop video files from the Laptop to my Lacie (250Gb) external hard drive. I have recreated the TS Video folder on the external drive but it doesn't help. The error message I am getting is that my external hard drive is full when I know for a fact that there is over 200GB free. I can drag and drop other files like word etc without any problems. Many thanks in advance for any useful advice.

Is your external drive using FAT32? If so you are probably trying to move files that are too large to move. This is a FAT32 restriction and the symptoms are that error you receive.

Thanks jephree for confirming that. I had already formatted my external drive late last night having read about this on another forum. I had previously used my external hard drive with my old satellite pro which was using 2000 so it had been formatted to FAT32. It's now using NTFS and works ok.
Once again many thanks for the confirmation.
