The next time that you open FireFox you should have your Bookmarks back.

but i don't. it's still empty. do i have to click "bookmarks.bak"?

With Firefox CLOSED:

Right click bookmarks.bak

Then click Rename

Then enter bookmarks.html

Then open Firefox.

it says "cannot rename bookmarks: a file with the name you specified already exists. specify a different file name."

You have 5 bookmarks.bak?

If so work with the latest date.

Go back to SEARCH and search for bookmarks.html and Delete it.

Then try again to rename the latest bookmarks.bak

nothing showed up when i put in bookmarks.html

Can you open/view bookmarks.bak?

See if you can import bookmarks.bak into IE.

If you can then you can reload FireFox and the import them back.

I can't view bookmarks.bak. when i click to open it, it shows me this box that says windows cannot open this file. windows needs to know what files created it.
