Exclamation MS Keyboard and mouse problems

I have been having problems with a microsoft wireless desktop setup, both the keyboard and mouse work fine, until i install the drivers , soon as i install the drivers keyboard becomes very laggy after boot, and after about 30 seconds both intellitype and intellipoint crash with c++ runtime errors. The system on which it is running is completely clean, having been checked with spybot, adaware, spy sweeper and sec task manager. have tried running on a clean boot and still crashes, so not conflicting with any other programs I'm running, can anyone help?

Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm probably missing something that you are refering to; but anyway; here goes:

If the keyboard & mouse work fine; what's the need to install drivers

As I think more on my thoughtlessness I should have asked:

"What Drivers are you refering to?"

    I was assuming you were refering to drivers for the keyboard & mouse;
But perhaps you meant other Drivers?

    Sorry for any confusion

sorry I really didn't explain myself perfectly there, mouse and keyboard both work fine except for additional functions (shortcut keys, volume and mute on keyboard, tilt wheel on mouse) so thats the reason I want the drivers running, also allows me to alter presets for shortcuts on keyboard, if wasn't for that I would have just left them uninstalled

Are the drivers "coming from" xp "plug & play" or are they external?

Are you sure they are compatable with xp?

If you want; post the keyboard & mouse specs, maker, model, etc. that will allow for some searching.

Also have you looked in Device Manager to check the status there?

    FIX?

    Quote from above link:

YES!! I think I might have just found the fix!!
I've been >searching all over the 'net like crazy trying
to find a fix to this problem, and now I think I've
finally found it! If you are having a problem with the
IntelliPoint / IntelliType software not responding
(freezing your system when you try to type, none of the
media keys work, tilt wheel doesn't work, etc.), and/or
you get a "Runtime Error" after a few minutes, and/or you
have to manually terminate type32.exe / point32.exe when
shutting down, then I think you might be thankful to
receive this information. And here it is......

"Terminal Services" must be enabled, somehow it has been
disabled, probably because you are a system tweaker like
myself. Go into "Administrative Tools -> Services,"
double click on "Terminal Services," and set the "Startup
type" to "Automatic." If you want to get it working
without having to reboot first, then click on Start after
    selecting Automatic and run type32.exe and/or point32.exe.
