Just trying to clarify:
Are you saying that you cannot use the computer for the first half hour that it is on? And then everything is OK after that?
Can you open anything from the Start Menu? Can you turn off Norton?
Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?
i can not open the start as and the norton to take off
i have the lab 3 years with the same programs, same norton .
Syddenly saw the problem.
I'd suggest trying a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:
start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
If this doesn't help I'd suggest running a HijackThis log by our Pros in that section:
Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
(Not in this section please).
Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.
After they give you an all clear return to this thread if the problem persists.
Do you have an XP disk? Or was your XP pre-installed (OEM)?
i did all the above procedures in the past but the results were negative.
i believe that my problem is in operation system.
Why stop to work all in taskbar + my computer for half hour after pc opening??
Why stop to have connection to access to internet for the same time??
Why stop and the time for the same time??
I control in event viewer and saw in tab system more error in DCOM
what is this??
sorry but my opinion is the operation system of Windows ???
what about this
Do you have an XP disk? Or was your XP pre-installed (OEM)?DCOM
Short for Distributed Component Object Model, an extension of the Component Object Model (COM) that allows COM components to communicate across network boundaries. Traditional COM components can only perform interprocess communication across process boundaries on the same machine. DCOM uses the RPC mechanism to transparently send and receive information between COM components (i.e., clients and servers) on the same network.
If the former try a Repair Install: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
If the latter consult your manual or the manufacturers' web site for Recovery Options.
