Hello and Help!
My wife is using a Hewlett Packard Pavilion zv 5000 (laptop). We've had it for about a year and no problems, but this week, 4-5 days ago, she or one of the neighbor kids using it, hit something(?) and now when she types her sentences get cut off completely, delete completely, or the cursor sets itself into the middle of the sentence she's typing, to coninue typing there. It's driving her nuts and since she sits beside me...it's beginning to drive me nuts *grin*
It's set for English US (we're in the US), we tried hitting Shift key 5 times to check and see if it was aticky keyed..to no avail.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated please!

A quick first try would be to use System Restore to a date back 5 or 6 days ago.
start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
If this doesn't work we can trace this further.
Also if you could try to plug in an external keyboard and see if the same problem happens
If not then we have created a temoray fix, and know that the physical keypad is faulty.
Thanks both of ya's, the problem was that she has accidentally turned the touchpad on her laptop on..so as her hand brushed over it while typing, it was tapping the touchpad *grin and feels stupid*Originally Posted by tkid124
