I have a e-machine d2386 and my cd rom does not read. I wanted to install avery design pro but can not. thanks for any help

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

Will it read any disks? Do you get an error message?

yes it is a new problem it was working before and according to my system check it still should be working. no new hardware or software has been added.

What is the indication that it is not working? Any error message? What happens?

Anytime there is a sudden problem in XP a System Restore is always a good try:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

I click on my computer and right click on the cd drive and found I was out of space so thanks for all your help.
