doubt very much.
i am the administrator on my system.i am using windows xp,service pack 2,AMD athlon.

That is the System Restore.
You need to manually set permissions to have access to it.

I tried your suggestion but it still tells me that i am denied access, and this file is beginning to bother me.Please any other suggestions, anything i will try!!.
I also have another query:
i have found a number of zero length file on my hard drive and from what i have been taught zero length files can be classified as spyware or viruses almost all of the time. Can i get some advice from you as to how to deal with them.and some of them will not delete
example "sti_trace.log"

Some zero length files are used by programs. If they are .tmp files they should be safe to delete. Many also that are used by programs would just recreate themselves. Coincidently with your curiosity on System Volume the System Restore usually stores many zero length files.
Why can't I remove the Sti_Trace.log (or SchedLgU.txt) file?
Are you sure that you followed The Elder Geeks instructions for your particular XP version and file system?
These steps have always worked for me and I know of no other method of viewing this folder.
Again this folder just holds the System Restore points.
