i have a 3mnth old sony vaio vgn fs315b. recently it has been taking a little longer than usual to boot up especially since i have changed my bt homepage from internet explorer to the btyahoo browser. thats problem 1/
no2/ is that it seems to have started about the same time but as boot starts the screen stays on the the last brightness setting i left it on, usually 2 or 3, but after my desktop and all the other bit and bobs have loaded the screen sets itself to max brightness !!!

I've checked for mal-spy ware etc and done what i can , i think.

anyone got suggestions b4 i take it back to the store?

Is it is just a difference between browsers? Can you use IE OK?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to this issue:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

You might also consider running a HijackThis log by our Pros in that section:

Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
(Not in this section please).

Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

All that being said, as the computer is under warranty, taking it back is not a bad idea.
