Hello, I have just joined this forum because I desperately need help please! I downloaded a stupid toolbar about three hours ago and it has completely mucked up my computer. It had deleted most of the programs in the control panel including all of my daughters Sims stuff (she is going to go mad at me!!!) I have managed to re-install the wanadoo for the internet but there are some crucial files gone including Outlook Express , system tools and I don't think I can download anything . I have tried System Restore but it won't go back. If anybody could help it would really be appreciated .Thank you

the first thing to check is whether you have a virus. the best way is to see if you can access http://www.symantec.com

If you can't you need to find out what virus you contracted... easier said than done. I have spent two days before trying to fix my Daughters computer ending up with a reinstall....

Can you see antivirus sights ok?

Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

Is your XP a Microsoft retail version? or an OEM (pre-installed) version?
