On my Dell 4500 Desk Top PC, when I push the button to start the Computer, I do not get the three Log in Names of ours as in the past, nor do I get the Start Icon, nor any other icons at the bottom Task Bar. All I get is a Dark Blue Desktop (with no icons), with a light blue foreground with Windows xp Logo. To shut off the computer, I have to push the Button in front for quite sometime or I have shut the power at source.
I have tried Contl - Alt - Del and nothing happens. Please advise .

I had a friend of mine and come and reinstall the Windows XP Disk that came with the machine, and it is fine now, but I am not ssure if it will continue working good for how long
