    Page File Help

I recently tweaked my page file I haven't done this before but I followed a guide, and now my computer was running fast or fine as the page file was set before I messed with it now it seems there is a lot of lag. I scanned for viruses/spyware/malware, all clean, but then I thought about the page file.

I read in a forum(gaming) how to tweak system to better run games so I figured why not, I can always change it later, well I set my initial size to 256, because I have 256 ram, then I set the maximum to 1000 I thought this was a lot. but I think I may have made the mistake of setting the page file onto my primary drive instead of my secondary, but here's my question i have games on both drives one is 20gb and the other is 200, should I set only one page file or two and with what constraints?

I've always found the best setting was: Computer Managed Size.

Both of these links are very informative:

I also downloaded ccleaner which I've used before it does everything that tuneup utilities does but it's free, and I downloaded something called cacheman it was supposed to give me the most ram it could get but it made the computer slow it seemed, ever heard of it, and even though I don't use it is it possible it's trying to recover ram still?

Also I read the articles and just set the page file back to computer managed, but it's still on the primary drive how do I put it on the secondary drive so it doesn't take up the space on my primary?

I put the page file on C: where San Andreas is located. But, I also have games on my Primary drive, F:
    Medal of Honor.

I would suggest putting in the drive with the most free space.

Or setting both (all) drives to system manage.

Try different settings and test the performance.

The system is just looking for space. I don't think it matters what else is on a particular drive. The more free space the better.

Going back to your previous post #3 I use Ccleaner all the time and love it.

I would not use a RAM optimizer. Have you uninstalled it?
