    Exclamation Illegal system DLL relocation!!!

    Hi,

    I update my Windows XP after a fresh instalation and I could not get past this message:

    stop:c0000269 {illegal system dll relocation}
    the system dll kernel32.dll was relocated in memory. the application will not run properly.
    The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\windows\system32\ gdi32.dll occupied an address range reserved for Windosws system dlls. The vendor supplying the dll shou %s %s

    There was a thread with the same problem and I tried to apply what was suggested there but I could not boot the computer from the CD - it just does not let me.

    Please help, I do not care if I have to reinstall windows but I cannot access the setup of the CD.

    Thank you

    PS: It could be a virus??? But how do I get rid of it if I cannot boot up the computer?

    Have you checked the boot menu in your BIOS?

    Yes, it's set to boot from CD first

    You can download the 6 floppy setup on another computer and then boot the floppies. They will initiate setup and then ask for your CD.

    Make sure you get the floppies for your particular version e.g. Home; Home SP1; Home SP2; Pro; Pro SP1; Pro SP2

    How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks

    Set BIOS to boot the Floppy first.
