I have a very similar problem. Running XP Pro here. I can not access the section that allows me to change the backgrounds. secondly the last picture I made as my background does not show on the desktop. But if you close windows down and after the desktop closes the background picture is now visible. I have tried the changes reccommended above with no sucess. Any help sure would be appreciatied...

you need to goto the spyware and virus section and ask them for help. they had me do a bunch of scans and run hijack scan and remove some items it returned in the scan. And it worked perfectly after that i wish i could tell you more but i cant remember everything they had me do. hope this helps.
