Can anyone explain why when I hoover my mouse over my connection icon on the task bar when online, it shows amount of bytes being sent ?

After about 30mins online this could be 1.5mb is my computer sending out somthing or something being removed by someone else ? I dont have peer to peer or anything like that I think !

If you are on-line there is bound to be some exchange of data.

Any program that has updating capability maybe scanning the web.

Many ISP providers load programs that phone home. Support.com being one. Broadjump Client another.

Many programs while running link back as well. Such as WMP; Adobe; Real; Quicktime; etc.

Do you have a firewall? It would allow you to view and choose who sends what and when.
